Music to Life Song of the Week: Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones
I love classic rock, and you can’t get more classic rock than the Rolling Stones. I first heard this song in a movie, I forgot which, a few years ago, and it has been in my Classic Rock playlist ever since. I shot with Tasara Vega, a fellow photographer, in studio and we shot a few different concepts with another photographer, Laura Ludwig. I love working with other photographers and collaborating. I often times find that I create my best work when working with my peers.
How I Shot this Fine Art Image
It’s not often where I photoshop a totally different dress over a model, but in this case I had to in order to utilize the cloak and hood effectively. The biggest things when compositing is to make sure the lighting is all consistent. So I searched for a stock image of a dress that showcased the vibe that I was looking for and one that had a similar lighting setup to the original image. This is a single light set up, which is provided by a small flash that I placed inside the lantern. The lantern diffused the light quite nicely and I loved how it looked.
