Music to Life Song of the Week: Once Upon a Dream as sung by Lana Del Rey

This is just a straight up tribute to the magic that Disney feature films bring. This is based on two things: the song, Once Upon a Dream and the movie, Maleficent. When I first started to take photography seriously, I took an interest in fashion. Fashion photography is so awesome and it’s no wonder that many aspiring professional photographers make it a goal to make it in that industry. For this shot, I wanted my subject to be a Maleficent based character with a high fashion sensibility. In Photoshop, I love layering images on top of each other and setting the blend modes to those layers. Here, I place three layers on top of the main one and set the blend mode to either “screen” or “soft overlay”. This is something I do to a lot of my fine art images, especially when I want to add texture.
