Music to Life Song of the Week: Unthought Known by Pearl Jam
Here’s another Pearl Jam inspired image for my Music to Life Conceptual Photography Series. “Unthought Known” is a track off of the band’s ninth studio album, “Backspacer.” It’s one of their more positive and uplifting albums, and for the song, I wanted to illustrate that theme. As a kid, I always wondered if it was possible to float away into the sky with a few helium filled balloons. The danger, of course, is that when the balloons finally pop, what would happen next.
Feel the air up above
Oh, pool of blue sky
Fill the air up with love
All black with starlight
Conceptual Photography Inspiration
This is a composite image where I used royalty free stock images for the background to help create my vision. I had some pictures of clouds that I could have used that I took while on an airplane, but they weren’t that good. When creating digital art, one of the easiest ways to get certain components when you don’t have time to shoot them is to use stock photos. The model was shot outdoors in natural light and was composited into the background, that actually consisted of 3 different clouds layers.
