Music to Life Song of the Week: Amongst the Waves by Pearl Jam

This was shot at Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach, California. It was shot in the middle of the afternoon using only natural light and minimal camera gear. I worked with Melanie before a couple of years ago, and she contacted me this year asking me if I wanted to work together again. We met up in one of my favorite beaches to shoot at, and she was open to all my ideas. I didn’t have any assistants with me, so I decided not to use an external flashes. Shooting in mid afternoon sunlight is a bit difficult due to the harsh shadows, but I made it work.
