Drawing Inspiration from Music to Create Fine Art by Jimmy Bui Photography
The Music to Life conceptual photography series is a personal project of mine that I have been working on the past two years. This started off as a simple experimentation with fine art photography, and it quickly developed into my biggest passion. I draw most of my inspiration from music, so I thought it was fitting to devote an entire body of work to my love of music. Song choice isn’t dependent on whether or not I like it, but if it strikes a particular emotional chord with me and if I can draw inspiration from that. I get a lot of people suggesting what song I should do next, but it doesn’t work that way. There are a lot of songs that I would love to interpret, but if I can’t find the inspiration to create the concept, then I can’t do it. With that being said, I have found inspiration from many different artists and bands. My favorite artists to draw inspiration from are Pearl Jam, Lana Del Rey, and Eddie Vedder. I’ve also created fine art pieces based on music that I generally don’t listen to, like Nick Jonas, Sia, and Tove Lo. On this site, you’ll find insight and behind the scenes information for each of my shoots, and a new image will be produced each week. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my series. Your support is fueling my fire to continue creating more images for this project, and I hope it continue for a long time.
